Hutchwise keeps a rabbitry's records on your phone: rabbits, pedigrees, breedings and litters. Record a breeding and it plans every step after it (palpation on day 12, nest box on day 28, kindling on day 31, weaning and breed-back) with reminders at the hour you choose.

It tracks litters from kindling to weaning, charts their growth, prints three-generation pedigrees and checks a pairing's inbreeding before you breed. It is free, with no rabbit limit, no account and no subscription.

Why we built it

  • Limits on how many rabbits you can keep. Hutchwise has no rabbit limit and nothing behind a paywall.
  • Calendars that don't know what comes next. One breeding creates the whole schedule, and a Today list shows what is due or overdue across every doe.
  • Records locked in someone else's cloud. Everything is stored on your phone, can be backed up to one file, and exports to CSV.

One breeding, the whole schedule

  • Record a breeding and Hutchwise plans palpation (day 12), nest box (day 28), kindling (day 31), nest box out, weaning and breed-back

How it works

The default schedule follows university extension and FAO guidance: palpation at day 12, nest box at day 28, kindling at day 31, then weaning and breed-back. Every offset can be changed (wean at 4, 6 or 8 weeks; breed back at 14 to 42 days or at weaning). If a doe has not kindled by day 32, Hutchwise prompts you to check her, and to call your vet by day 34.

Pedigrees are built from your own records, with ancestors typed from papers for bought-in stock. The pairing check computes the expected litter's inbreeding coefficient and lists the ancestors the buck and doe share.

Honest limits

  • Schedules are a starting point. For a doe in trouble, call your vet.
  • Hutchwise is a record-keeping app, not a registration service; registrations are recorded, not submitted.

When should I put the nest box in?

How do I check for inbreeding before pairing rabbits?
