Wallpaper Calculator
How many rolls of wallpaper you need, worked out the decorator's way: by strips.

What it is
Wallpaper Calculator tells you how many rolls to buy using the strip (drop) method decorators actually use, so the offcut at the top of every drop is accounted for, not just the wall area.

Features
How it works
The strips needed are the room's perimeter divided by the roll width, rounded up. Each roll gives the roll length divided by the wall height in full-height strips, rounded down. The rolls to buy are the strips needed divided by the strips per roll, rounded up.
Honest limits
- Patterned papers with a large repeat need extra length per drop; allow more for pattern matching.
Questions
How many rolls of wallpaper do I need?
Count the strips (the room's perimeter divided by the roll width) and how many full-height strips one roll gives; divide and round up. Wallpaper Calculator does this for you.
Why not just divide the wall area by the roll area?
Because the offcut at the top of each drop can't be reused for a full strip. The strip method counts whole drops, so it doesn't leave you short.
